PURPOSE: To prevent galvanic action so as to prevent elution of metallic ions and prevent bits of food from adhering to and remaining in a recess by coating the surface of a metallic crown for dental prosthesis with a film of an inorganic composition made up of a ceramic aggregate and an inorganic binder.

CONSTITUTION: A metallic crown for dental prosthesis is coated at its surface with a film of an inorganic composition made up of a ceramic aggregate and an inorganic binder. This coating is further coated with a thin film of glass ceramics, and the inorganic binder is converted by heating into a component that yields glass ceramics. The component that yields glass ceramics is either a metal alkoxide or an inorganic metal polymer. Thus the galvanic action of the crown tar dental prosthesis can be prevented, elution of metallic ions and adhesion and accumulation of food can be prevented, and the appearance of the tooth is not damaged at all but given the effect of improving it.
