Title:
METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR ALLEVIATING DETONATION IN VESSEL OR PIPELINE SYSTEM
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3926872
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it possible to alleviate the detonation in a vessel or pipeline system by introducing a main head to an expansion chamber in a longer passing time so as to incorporate the combustion gas of a sub-head in the chamber when the main head enters the chamber.
SOLUTION: Since a main head must advance the route to a longer flame preventing unit 7 than a sub-head via a first guide pipeline, the sub-head arrives at an expansion chamber 17 before the main head at time. The sub-head is decomposed in the chamber 17, and burned as explosion combustion. When the main head enters the chamber 17, exhaust gas is at least partly or preferably completely charged in the chamber 17, no combustible gas for the earliest main head exists in the chamber 17 or, if it exists, it is extremely little, and hence it cannot absorb sufficient energy for the propagation. Accordingly, the main head is decomposed in the chamber 17 before the main head arrives at the unit 7. The detonation is effectively alleviated by this state to make it possible to alleviate the load to the unit 7.
