Title:
METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR OPENING MOLTEN-METAL-TAPPING NOZZLE ATTACHED TO MOLTEN METAL VESSEL
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3563786
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To provide a method and an apparatus for opening a nozzle in which the nozzle can be easily autogenously opened at the time of opening the nozzle of a molten metal vessel.
CONSTITUTION: A nozzle opening apparatus 11 comprises a sliding nozzle 12, and a gas spraying nozzle 13 provided near at the nozzle 12. After the nozzle 12 is closed, particulate filler 25 is filled in a nozzle hole 24, and molten metal 20 is tapped in a ladle 10. If the ladle staining time of the metal 20 is long by secondary refining, etc., a sintered layer 26 and a solidified layer 27 are formed at the boundary to the metal at the filler 25. Even if the nozzle 12 is opened, it is not autogenously opened, argon gas is sprayed into the metal 20 by the nozzle 13. Thus, the layers 27 and 26 become collapsible, and hence it can be easily autogeneously opened at the time of opening the nozzle.
