Abstract:
PURPOSE: To increase processing speed in a method and apparatus, for processing sheets of notes to form a bundle of notes.
CONSTITUTION: For example, a sequence of H number of sheets of bank notes, for example 100 sheets, is first checked for misprints and, subsequently, the sheets of this sequence pass through a numbering machine. All satisfactory note prints within the sequence of sheets, excluding misprints, receive a consecutive sequence of numbers, and the sequence of numbers of the H notes in the same note position is the continuation of the sequence of numbers of the H notes in a neighboring note position. After numbering, stacks of sheets FH having H sheets each are formed and cut into stacks of notes W. The misprints are removed in a segregating and bundling device 9, and H successive satisfactory notes are combined to form a bundle WB having a complete sequence of numbers.
