Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and an apparatus for producing charcoal and pyroligneous acid wherein pyroligneous acid containing no foreign matter can be obtained and a fuel cost can be reduced.
SOLUTION: A chipped material and fuel for producing charcoal and pyroligneous acid are obtained from a woody waste material. The chipped material is charged in carbonization chambers 2A-2E installed in a combustion furnace 1. The fuel is burnt by a burner 5 installed in the combustion furnace 1 to heat the carbonization chambers 2A-2E from the outside. The chipped material is carbonized and gives charcoal and pyroligneous acid.
