Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a method and an apparatus by which respective particles can be sorted on the basis of the gray level image of aggregate particles by a method wherein a plurality of density ranges according to the density of the particles are set, gray level images within the respective density ranges are extracted and a synthesized image as their sum is obtained.
SOLUTION: Regarding the gray level image of aggregate particles, a plurality of density ranges according to the density of the particles are set, and the gray level images within the respective density ranges are extracted. The density of the particles is changed according to the overlap of the particles, to the size of the group of the particles and to a distance from a part around the group of the particles. When the density ranges are set, various density ranges are decided in advance, the density ranges are compared with a density expressed by the particles of a gray level image, and the density ranges which agree are adopted. The gray level image in every density range expresses the particles in the density range. At this time, the image of the particles within every density range is binalized, a synthesized binalized image which expresses the sum of binalized images expresses the sum of the particles in every density range, and the particles in different density ranges are expressed as separate particles.
