Title:
METHOD FOR ARRANGING NEUTRON DETECTOR
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3041101
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To evaluate easily the subcritical degree of a system at a middle stage of storage work, by arranging neutron detectors at a position near the axial center and a position near either the axial upper or lower end of a spent fuel assembly(SFA)
CONSTITUTION: A fuel basket for a cask for storaging an SFA of a boiling water reactor is provided with a cylindrical outer casing 10, and latticed rooms 12 for storaging SFAs partitioned by lattice materials 11 are provided within the outer casing 10. Holes 13 for inserting neutron detectors are provided, for example at four positions, in the lattice parts of a half lacking state not storaging the SFAs, within the outer casing 10 also. The neutron detectors are arranged at a position near the axial center and a position near either the axial upper or lower end of the SFA. By this, a relative standard deviation value using the measured values of neutron flux from these positions has the largest change by a subcritical degree, and a very accurate evaluation of the subcritical degree can be made.
