To provide a method for co-generating electricity and product flow containing at least one formally-liquid hydrocarbon.
An electric power generating system is operated by burning a first part of a composition which is gaseous under normal conditions containing methane. At least part of the electricity is used for operating a dielectric barrier discharge reactor having at least one of a first electrode device, a second electrode device, and a layer of a normally-solid dielectric material positioned between the first electrode device and the second electrode device. The second part of the composition is introduced into the reactor. The second part of the composition is subjected to dielectric barrier discharge in the presence of a normally-solid catalyst. The second part of the composition is turned to a product flow containing at least one normally-liquid hydrocarbon.
