Abstract:

PURPOSE: To provide a method for controlling rolling and device therefor with which control gain in a succeeding stage is optimized for every material to be rolled taking disturbance that is happened in the preceding stage into consideration.
CONSTITUTION: The material 8 to be rolled completing the preceding stage with a roughing mill 4 is moved in on-line and entered into a finishing mill 5 which is controlled by a thickness controller 2. During this movement, thickness is measured on a specific cycle with a measuring unit 7 and the change over the entire length of the material to be rolled is simulated with a simulator 1 with which the finish rolling stage is simulated based on the thickness at each cycle. This simulation is repeatedly executed taking control gain as a parameter, control gain by which the optimum result is obtained is determined and this control gain is set in the thickness controller 2 of an actual device.
