PURPOSE: To enable pattern matched cutting with an automatic cutter by loading a cutting head with a charge-coupled device(CCD) camera and simultaneously using a special sheet as an air-impermeable sheet for holding a sheetlike member to be cut on a cutting bed.
CONSTITUTION: A sheetlike member 2 to be cut is placed on a cutting bed 1 and a transparent air-impermeable special sheet 20, capable of visually seeing a pattern of the above-mentioned sheetlike member to be cut therethrough and judging the pattern and provided with a color capable of discriminating brightness of pattern papers and that of all the color patterns after seeing thereof through the sheet-like member with a CCD camera 31 is then superposed to fix the sheetlike member 2 to be cut with suction. Required plural sheets of pattern paper 21-23 are positioned and placed on the special sheet 20 according to the pattern of the sheetlike member 2. The contour of the above- mentioned pattern paper is then continuously and automatically traced from one point on the aforementioned contour with the CCD camera 31 loaded onto a cutting head 30 and memorized to convert the above-mentioned contour into cutting data. Cutting is then carried out based on the aforementioned data.
