PURPOSE: To connect the free ends of sheet materials to a light transporting band in the gripping unit mounted to the rear of the main conveyer, pull out the sheet materials as they are placed on the band material and pile up the sheet materials having repeated patterns.

CONSTITUTION: A sheet of relatively hard paper is extended on the working table 1, and a coupler 15 is used to connect the movable member 3 to the pulling tool 6 thereby forming the main carriage. This carriage is moved to the rear, the free edge of the sheet material 14 is connected to the light transporting band in the gripping unit 12 set to the pulling tool 6, and the main carriage is sent to the front of the working table 1 to expand the sheet material of a prescribed length to the working table 1. The clamping unit 12 is released, the main carriage is displaced by a previously prescribed distance, then stopped to cut the sheet with the blade 13 in the pulling tool 6 and a vertical hole-boring member is introduced so that the patterns of the sheet materials 14 may be overlapped.
