Abstract:

To provide a method for specifically and efficiently decomposing a C-S bond of a heterocyclic sulfur compound including naphthothiophene and benzonaphthothiophene.

This method for decomposing a heterocyclic sulfur compound is characterized by bringing a bacterium belonging to the genus Bacillus, capable of cleaving the C-S bond of naphtho thiophene and benzo naphtho thiophene or an enzyme produced by the bacterium into contact with a substance containing the heterocyclic sulfur compound.
