Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain a method for degrading a biodegradable high-molecular polymer and a method for treating the surface of the high-molecular polymer.
CONSTITUTION: This method is to degrade an aliphatic polyester using a lipase derived from the genus Pseudomonas. Furthermore, the lipase having the ability to degrade the aliphatic polyester is bound to a water-soluble polymer carrier and the aliphatic polyester is then brought into contact with the immobilized enzyme. Thereby, the surface can be treated without deteriorating the strength of the aliphatic polyester and the hand thereof can be improved.
