Title:
METHOD OF DESULFURIZING HETEROCYCLIC SULFUR COMPOUND USING BACTERIUM
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2003135054
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To provide a means for efficiently desulfurizing a petroleum product, etc., by finding a bacterium which can decompose a heterocyclic sulfur com pound having asymmetric structure being a highly hardly removable heterocyclic sulfur compound, especially benzothiophenes, naphthothiophenes, and hardly removable alkylbenzothiophenes and using the bacterium.

This method for separating and removing sulfur from a substance containing a heterocyclic sulfur compound by making a microorganism having the ability to selectively cleave a C-S bond of the heterocyclic sulfur compound having asymmetric structure or an enzyme produced by the microorganism to act.
