Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the method and device capable of coping with the variations in the charge of coal, dry moisture content and classification conditions with a single classifier at the time of classifying coke-oven coal into fine-powder coal and coarse-grain coal by the use of a fluidized-bed classifier.
SOLUTION: A partition plate 6 is inserted into the freeboard 3 of a classifier to divide the space of the freeboard into one main classification compartment 4 and one or two or more auxiliary classification compartments 5, exhaust ducts 7 and 8 are provided respectively at the upper part of the compartment 5, a gas flow controller 10 is furnished at the upper part of the auxiliary classification compartment, and the flow velocity of the gas ascending in the main classification compartment 4 is adjusted by controlling the discharge of the gas from the auxiliary classification compartment 5 to regulate the maximum grain diameter of the fine-powder coal classified.
