PURPOSE: To perform a packaging of a bedding, etc., with less labor by a method wherein a plurality of articles to be compressed, being stacked, are stored in a paper bag, and the articles are compressed, and two edges at the upper opening of the paper bag are pressed down such as being folded down from the side, and then, the folded pieces are temporarily fixed, and then, remaining two edges are folded down and temporarily fixed.

CONSTITUTION: When a bedding is packaged, a specified numbers of beddings are placed in a paper 11 on a base 1 in order. Then, a top compressing means 3 is driven by a pedal operation, and after the beddings are compressed to a specified volume, a pair of side part-pressing means 4 are driven by a pedal operation, and two edges of the top opening of the paper bag are folded down by tilting a pressing member 10. Under this condition, the folded down two edges are temporarily fixed by a worker, using an adhesive tape. Then, after raising the top compressing means 3, remaining two edges of the paper bag 11 are folded down by a manual work of the worker, and the two edges are temporarily fixed by an adhesive tape in the same manner. Then, the pressing member 10 is removed, and the beddings are transferred to a band-tying process.
