Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce an encoding quantity and to prevent deterioration in picture quality by performing warping motion compensating operation by making a jump by the number of frames determined by both the variation quantities of a moving image being inputted and an encoding quantity being outputted and multiplexing the encoded signal of a moving vector, the preliminary error signal of frames, and the encoded signal of the number of frames.
SOLUTION: An analyzer 1 monitors a frame being inputted and the variation quantity in a buffer 20, analyzes the quantitative variation to determine the number of jumped frames, and informs a multiplexing means 2 and a timing generator 3 of it. The timing generator 3 decides whether or not the frame being inputted is jumped over and inputs a frame which is a specific number of frames ahead by operating a switch 5. Warping motion compensating operation is performed by inputted frames, the preliminary error signal of the difference from the frame being inputted is encoded, and the multiplexing means 2 encodes the number of jumped frames, multiplexes the encoded signal of the moving vector, the preliminary error signal of the frames, and the encoded signal of the number of frames, and outputs the resulting signal as an encoded sequence.
