Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a device for generating a new optical time division multiplexed signal in which the distortion of a time signal during optical fiber transmission can be reduced.
SOLUTION: In a hyper high-speed dimensional converting method for developing a hyper short optical signal pulse to a two-dimensional (2D) spectrogram corresponding to a time and a wavelength, directly modulating the spectrogram in a 2D modulation device 5a and converting it to the hyper short optical signal pulse again, the spatial distribution of hyper short optical pulses is made discrete so that the temporal waveform of each of hyper short optical signal pulses can become discrete.
