PURPOSE: To produce fibers from a viscous substance by a spiral method reducing the content of shots.
CONSTITUTION: The lowering flow 14 of a viscous substance simultaneously receives the actions of the plural flows of the first gas approaching a point P at a place near the point P at which the first gas flow 7 most nearly approaches the flow 14 of the substance, finely divided, uniformly distributed onto the periphery of a central axial line H0 along the respective travel directions of the first gas flows 7 gradually apart from the point P, further blown out toward the first gas flows 7, receiving the action of the second gas flow 12 whose cross section is gradually narrowed, and subsequently discharged in the form of the drawn fibers from the outlet of the cylindrical tube 8a of the second nozzle 8. When the throttle mechanism of the cylindrical tube part 8a is disposed and when the second gas flow 12 is progressed so as to wholly throttle into a conical shape toward the central axial line H0, shots in the fibers 16 are reduced, and the fibers are stably formed without thinning and shortening the fibers beyond necessary thickness and length.
