To provide a method for making UV gel ink show superior positioning characteristics on various kinds of matrix in an image forming method using the UV gel ink.
The method includes the steps of: setting a temperature of a drum to make ink flow; spraying the UV gel ink on a matrix 112 using a print head 105; heating a reverse surface of the matrix 112 using a reflow drum 107 to cause a reflow; and curing an image 110 of the UV gel ink using a UV light emission source 145 for forming a cured image. At least one of trouble and line spreading is measured using an in-line sensor and it is determined whether a drum temperature, the position of the UV light emission source 145, and/or a print processing speed is changed so as to optimize the trouble and/or line spreading.
