Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide a method and a system for intuitively and visually displaying pressure given by a user to a pressure-sensitive graphical input device which is connected to a data processing system.
CONSTITUTION: A video display device is used for displaying a pointer or graphic expression in an input to the pressure-sensitive graphical input device at a position inside a display device, which is indicated by the input (74). Pressure given by the user is periodically judged by the selection of the pressure- sensitive graphical input device (76) and utilized for changing the forms of graphic expression in the input and, thus, the change of pressure given to the input device is visually displayed. The color and the size of the related pointer are automatically changed in accordance with the size of pressure given to the pressure-sensitive graphical input device by the user or a numerical value related to the pointer and a graphic condition are changed (78) so that the pressure is easily and continuously judged.
