Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To permit an unmanned operation in a vertical hole by mechanizing the work of drilling a noncircular vertical hole.
SOLUTION: Moving rails 7 are laid parallel to each other over a drilling range where a vertical hole is to be drilled, a gate-shaped frame 8 is placed in such a way as to freely travel on the moving rails 7, a drilling device 1 on which first and second drilling blades 2, 3 are provided in such a way as to freely revolve about their own axes is supported against the gate-shaped frame 8 in such a way as to freely rise and fall, and the vertical hole 5 of a predetermined unit depth is drilled by the freely revolving drilling blades 2, 3 of the drilling device 1. The drilling is performed while time gate-shaped frame 8 is moved Intermittently along the moving rails 7 so that the circular turning drilling parts of the device 1 partly overlap, drilling action for the predetermined unit depth in the predetermined drilling range is regarded as one cycle of drilling action, the drilling device 1 is lowered, and a plurality of cycles of drilling action are repeated to increase the drilling depth.
