PURPOSE: To reduce total cost for drying by molding a mixture consisting of vegitable fine fibers and/or particulates and an urethane polymer using excessive water to irradiate the molded one with far infrared rays or microwaves and further drying the molded product by hot air or solar ventilation drying.
CONSTITUTION: Far infrared heaters 8 are parallelly arranged so as to hold a conveyor 9 therebetween in an oven 1 and the objective sheet running while carried by the conveyor is irradiated with far infrared rays. Hot air inlets 4, 6 are respectively provided to both ovens and heated air necessary for drying is sent in both ovens while waste air containing moisture is discharged from respective outlets 5, 7. A water-containing sheet or molded article molded from vegitable fine fibers and/or particulates as a filler, an urethane polymer and excessive water is irradiated with far infrared rays having a wavelength of 5-100μm or microwaves having frequency of 2-5,000MHz at 100-400°C to lower the moisture in the objective water-containing sheet or molded article to 8-200%. By this method, drying can be efficiently performed as compared with hot air drying or solar ventilation drying and scorching easy to generate by hot air drying is not generated.
