Abstract:

PURPOSE: To dye a synthetic polyamide fiber to deep black excellent in color fastness by dyeing the synthetic polyamide fiber with a specific disazo compound using a water-soluble cobalt salt or a water-soluble nickel salt as a mordant.
CONSTITUTION: This method for dyeing a synthetic polyamide fiber to black is to dye the synthetic polyamide fiber with a disazo compound represented by the formula in an acidic bath acidified with acetic acid according to a conventional method, then reduce the temperature (to 80°C) and mordant the fiber with a mordant of a water-soluble cobalt salt (cobalt acetate) or a water-soluble nickel salt. Thereby, the fiber is dyed to deep black excellent in color fastness to abrasion, washing and light.
