To provide a method and equipment for stably manufacturing cold-rolled steel sheets excellent in quality by preventing defective properties in the edge parts of a product after cold rolling and surface flaws caused by trimming.
In the method for manufacturing the cold-rolled steel sheets having a predetermined size by cold-rolling the steel sheets 1 after hot rolling after pickling them, while a pair of upper and lower circular rotary cutting blades 10A, 11A, 10B, 11B are pressed against the edge parts of the steel sheets 1 before cold rolling to a predetermined depth from the upper and lower parts, shearing is applied to the edge parts until becoming in an unseparated state and, next, after cutting off the edge parts 1A, 1B by clamping edge parts with narrow width rolls 14A, 14B, 13 which are installed in the respective edge parts and with which only the edge parts are clamped and cold rolling is applied with a rolling mill having work rolls whose diameters are 300 mm.
