Title:
METHOD FOR FORMING IMAGING ELEMENT
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2001305705
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To provide a protective overcoat for an imaging element which is permeable to water during development and becomes waterproof in the end product without a melting step.

In the objective method for forming an imaging element, a photographic element including a base, a silver halide emulsion layer on one face of the base and an overcoat containing 10-50 wt.% gelatin and 50-90 wt.% hydrophobic particles of 10-500 nm average particle diameter on the emulsion layer is prepared, imagewise exposed and processed with a solution containing an effective amount of a proteolytic enzyme to digest the gelatin in the overcoat. A photochemical processing composition for the method is provided.
