Abstract:

PURPOSE: To made steel-manufacturing slag into resources again by reducing free Cab, phosphorus oxide and valuable metal oxides in steel-manufacturing slag.

CONSTITUTION: Steel-manufacturing slag is mixed with a silicic acid-containing modifier, a carbon-containing reducing agent and iron scrap, the mixture is heated and melted under preservation of a reducing atmosphere by feeding an oxygen-containing gas. Free lime is combined with silicic acid and phosphorus and valuable metals in the forms of oxides are reduced and transferred into molten iron.
