To increase the yield of egg production by poultry and strengthen egg shells according to a method capable of avoiding ill effect associated with bisphosphonic acid administration.

Bisphosphonic acid, its pharmaceutically permissible salt, its hydrate or their mixture is administered to a hen before the average egg-laying initial age.
