Title:
METHOD AND INSTRUMENT FOR MEASURING ELECTRIC CONDUCTIVITY OF PRECIPITATION
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH06138066
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To measure the electric conductivity of precipitation in real time by dropping collected precipitation as water drops of the same volume from a dropping cylindrical body and measuring the electrical relation between a detecting body which can be brought into contact with the water drops and the cylindrical body.

CONSTITUTION: The precipitation collected by a collecting body 1 moves downward and gathers together along the internal surface of the body 1 and gets in a dropping cylindrical body 3. The precipitation is smoothly introduced into the body 3 by means of a thin wire 4 and the precipitate in the body 3 drops down from the body 3 as water drops M having the same volume as much as possible irrespective of the quantity of the precipitation due to the structure of the body 3. Therefore, when the quantity is large (small), the number of the dropping water drops increases (decreases) and, since a detecting body 6 is provided below the body 3 at an inspecting interval L, the drops M which start to drop down simultaneously come into contact with the bodies 3 and 6. After coming into contact, the drops M drop into a discharging cylindrical body 10 along the body 6. Since the bodies 3 and 6 have a continuity to each other when the drops M simultaneously come into contact with them, the electric current between electrodes 7 and 9 to which a constant current is supplied is measured and outputted as a voltage. Therefore, the electric conductivity of the precipitation which changes with time can be measured in real time.
