To provide a method for magnetizing a magnet in which motor characteristics can be varied without altering components used in the motor.
When the two-pole magnetization of a magnet is performed by inserting a columnar back yoke to the inner circumferential side of a tubular magnet 1, fitting a housing 3 to the outer circumferential side of the magnet, arranging magnetic flux forming means 4 and 5 outside the housing and then applying electricity to the magnetic flux forming means, characteristics of a motor are varied by varying the diametrical dimension of a columnar magnetic member 2a and the radial dimension of a tubular nonmagnetic member 2b fitted over the magnetic member relatively without varying the diametrical dimension of the back yoke, wherein both members constitute the back yoke.
