Abstract:

To provide a method of manufacturing a bearing device for a wheel facilitated in accurate machining for preventing the vibration of a flange and capable of restricting the occurrence of brake judder.

A hub wheel 2, a constant velocity universal joint 4, an external member 5 and a rolling body 6 are assembled to form a sub assembly S. In the state in which the external member 5 of the sub assembly S is fixed, the hub wheel 2 and an outside joint member 3 are rotated around the shaft center O of the sub assembly, and other part of the hub wheel 2 except a brake rotor side fitting surface 21 of the flange 1 of the hub wheel 2 is cut so as to form a reference machined surface K. Thereafter, turning is performed to the brake rotor side fitting surface 21 on the basis of the reference machined surface K.
