Abstract:
To provide a method of producing a honeycomb structure capable of stably forming a required electric resistivity distribution to the honeycomb structure by an easy method, and a method of producing an electrically heating-type carrier.SOLUTION: A method of producing an electroconductive honeycomb structure includes: a molding process of extruding a molding material containing an electroconductive ceramic raw material to obtain a honeycomb molding having an outer peripheral wall, and partition walls for forming a plurality of cells which form passages; a drying process of drying the molding to obtain a honeycomb dried body; and a calcination process of calcining the dried body to obtain a honeycomb calcined body. where the molding process includes a process of controlling a volume of a part becoming pores of the molding so that an absolute value of a difference of a volume fraction of a part becoming pores in a predetermined region of the honeycomb molding to a preliminarily set predetermined porosity of the honeycomb molding becomes less than 0.5%, and the predetermined porosity is a porosity preliminarily set for every predetermined region in a section perpendicular to a passage direction of the cells of the calcined body.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
