To provide a method for manufacturing an electrostatic charge image developing toner which has a sharp grain size distribution and good shape without a change in the grain size distribution and shape of the toner before and after drying even if the velocity of a heated air current flowing in main piping is increased in order to prevent the generation of undried toner particles and flocculated particles, and which has excellent image stability and electrostatic charge characteristics.
The method for manufacturing the electrostatic charge image developing toner is characterized in that the GSDv of the toner is ≤1.3, that the surface nature index value is ≤2.0 and further that the drying conditions satisfy the following equations (1) and (2). The equation (1) 35≤Y/X, the equation (2) 50≤V≤250. In the equations (1) and (2), Y denotes the flow rate (m3/h) per unit time of the heating air current to be supplied from an air current discharge port to the main piping; X denotes the moisture content and/or deposited water volume (Kg/h) of the moist toner supplied into the heated air current per unit time; and V denotes the discharge velocity (m/s) of the heated air current to be discharged from the air current discharge port.
