Abstract:
PURPOSE:To manufacture easily a foam having uniform mechanical strength, by a method wherein a specific processing is applied to a laminated sheet comprised of a specific fiber-reinforced resin layer and thermoplastic resin layer. CONSTITUTION:A laminated sheet 3 is obtained by laminating a fiber-reinforced thermoplastic resin layer 1 comprised of a large number of continuous reinforced fibers and thermoplastic resin A having a melt flow rate of 15-500 and a thermoplastic resin layer 2 which has the melt flow rate of 0.15-5 and are comprised of the thermoplastic resin A and thermoplastic resin B which has hot fusing properties. The laminated sheet 3 is constituted so that its fiber direction becomes a longitudinal direction, shaped continuously into a hollow state and made into a laminated hollow body. The laminated hollow body 12 is led to a shaping mold 7 and foamable resin C is supplied continuously within the laminated hollow body 12 which is being passed through the mold while foaming the foamable resin C. The laminated hollow body 12 is made to extend in its circumferential direction by foaming pressure while keeping the thermoplastic resins A, B under a softened state. Then the laminated hollow body 12 is shaped by making to run along an inner circumferential surface of the mold and the inside of the laminated hollow body 12 is filled with a thermoplastic resin foam 13.
