Abstract:
To provide a new method for manufacturing a hollow component.SOLUTION: A method for manufacturing a hollow component provided with a box-shaped foam hollow portion having an opening 20, formed by shaping a foam body, and a lid portion 3 made of a non-foam body and covering the opening 20 of the foam hollow portion, the method comprising a joining step of joining a peripheral edge portion 21 of the opening 20 in an intermediate body 29 and the lid portion 3, after covering the opening 20 of the intermediate body 29 of the foamed hollow portion having the opening 20 with the lid portion 3, and a trimming step of removing a surplus portion 28 located on the outer side in the radial direction of the opening 20 with respect to a portion joined to the lid portion 3, of the intermediate body 29, the surplus portion 28 being cutout at a position adjacent to the outer side in the radial direction relative to a convex portion 31 in the trimming step, defining a portion in at least one of the intermediate body 29 and the lid portion 3 joining with the other as the convex portion 31 protruding toward the other.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
