To provide a method for manufacturing a hot-rolled steel sheet which can predict a temperature history of unevenness on an end face of a coil.SOLUTION: A method for manufacturing a hot-rolled steel sheet according to one aspect of the present invention includes steps of: measuring a surface temperature of a strip-like hot-rolled steel material; calculating a temperature history in a cooled state after winding when it is supposed that the strip-like steel material is wound in a coil shape with no unevenness on an end face on the basis of the surface temperature measured in the measurement step; actually winding the strip-like steel material after the measurement step in a coil shape; scanning the end face of the coil wound in the winding step with a displacement gauge, and deriving a size of the unevenness on the end face in a radius of the coil; and predicting a temperature history of the unevenness in the cooled state using the temperature history calculated in the calculation step and the size of the unevenness derived in the derivation step.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
