To provide a method for easily manufacturing an insert molding in which a raw material is uniformly distributed by one compression molding without deforming an insert material by uniformly filling the raw material, and an apparatus for manufacturing the insert molding, suitably used for the method.
The insert material 6 of plate shape having a long-sized plate surface with a large plate width in relation to thickness is disposed in a cavity 28 so as to penetrate along the longitudinal direction of the insert material 6 with the plate surface vertically parallel. The raw material is filled from a raw material inlet 30 of the cavity 28 in a direction parallel to the plate surface. The cavity 28 is closed. The raw material in the cavity 28 is compressed from a direction perpendicular to the plate surface of the insert material 6 to form a compressed molding 4. The cavity 28 is opened to the outside, and a compressed molding 4 integrally formed with the insert material 6 is taken out of the cavity 28.
