To provide a method for manufacturing a molded paper product that can be molded by a conventional deep drawing method, does not use an adhesive such as a synthetic resin and thereby is suitable for segregated disposal and recycle after being used, and has superior strength, and to provide an apparatus for manufacturing the same.

The method for manufacturing the molded paper product comprises: passing a paper board 1 that becomes a raw material, into a tank 41 of an aqueous solution containing a natural paste and softening the paper board; removing excess moisture by using a squeezing roller 421; then leaving the paper board in air for a predetermined period of time to promote the impregnation of the aqueous solution containing the natural paste into an inner part of the paper board; then subjecting a surface of the paper board to predetermined embossing to enhance moldability; subsequently drying the paper board 1 to adjust the paper board so as to have predetermined humidity; then mold-pressing the paper board by using a heated perforated mold; removing the mold; and punching the resultant product as needed.
