To provide a method for manufacturing paste by which the paste with a required viscosity and with a uniformly dispersed raw material can be obtained in a short time.
In the method for manufacturing the paste of the present invention, a mud comprising at least two kinds of solvents and a powder (for example, a ceramic powder or the like) incorporated in the solvent is vacuum-deaerated to remove at least one kind of the solvents and to leave at least one kind of the other solvent. Pressure of the vacuum deaeration is preferably at most the vapor pressure of the solvent to be removed during vacuum deaeration and higher than the vapor pressure of the other solvent to be left during vacuum deaeration. In addition, the vapor pressure of the solvent to be left during vacuum deaeration is at most 1/10 of the pressure during vacuum deaeration. Furthermore, by providing a process wherein the removed solvent is liquified by at least one of cooling and pressurizing and is recovered, the solvent vaporized from the mud can be safely and easily recovered.
