PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a prepreg capable of surely keeping a state where carbon fibers and insulation fibers are arranged in a lattice-like manner.SOLUTION: A method for manufacturing a prepreg 1 includes: a step of arraying insulation fiber groups 3 formed of two longitudinally extending electrical insulating fibers 2 at predetermined intervals, arraying carbon fibers 4 formed of laterally extending carbon fibers 4 at predetermined intervals, entangling the two electrical insulating fibers 2 contained in each of the insulation fiber groups 3 with each of the carbon fibers 4 in a vertically intersecting manner, and thereby forming a fiber substrate in which the insulation fiber groups 3 and the carbon fibers 4 are arranged in a lattice-like manner; a step of preparing a paper material of which the surface is coated with an epoxy resin; a step of subjecting the fiber substrate and the paper material to heat lamination, making the epoxy resin with which the paper material is coated contained in the carbon fibers and the electrical insulating fibers of the fiber substrate, and thereby forming the fiber substrate into a prepreg 1; and a step of peeling the paper material from the prepreg 1.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
