To provide a method for producing a composition which is excellent in production efficiency and contains a fine cellulose fiber excellent in rigidity and heat resistance and a biodegradable resin.SOLUTION: In a method for producing a resin composition that melt-kneads a fine cellulose fiber and a biodegradable resin, the fine cellulose fiber has an average fiber width of 2-15,000 nm and an average fiber length of 0.1-2.0 mm, the fine cellulose fiber is powdery object, the powdery object contains moisture, a ratio of the moisture of the powdery object is 10-90 mass%, and melt-kneading is performed on such temperature and pressure conditions that water contained in the powdery object of the fiber cellulose fiber is in a subcritical state.SELECTED DRAWING: None
