Abstract:
To provide a method for manufacturing a semipermeable membrane support which can withstand repeated washing and backwashing, prevents strike-through of a semipermeable membrane component while easily penetrating the semipermeable membrane component, is excellent in adhesion between a semipermeable membrane support and a semipermeable membrane, and is also excellent in adhesion between a non-coated surface and a resin frame, in a semipermeable membrane support containing a polyolefin-based fiber.SOLUTION: A method for manufacturing a semipermeable membrane support used while providing a semipermeable membrane includes the steps of: manufacturing a wet type non-woven fabric by a wet type papermaking method while adjusting fiber orientation using a core-sheath type composite fiber which contains polypropylene as a core component and polyethylene as a sheath component and has a fiber diameter of 1-30 μm; drying the wet type non-woven fabric by a heat roll having a surface temperature of 100-180°C; and a hot pressing processing step of hot pressing processing the wet type non-woven fabric after drying with a roll having a surface temperature in a range of a temperature lower than a melting point or a softening point of the fiber measured by differential thermal analysis by 50°C to a temperature higher than the melting point or the softening point by 10°C.SELECTED DRAWING: None
