To provide a method for manufacturing a strongly sticking liquid crystal spacer for obtaining a liquid crystal display device revealing excellent display quality by possessing an adhesive layer with a sufficient thickness on the surface of base substance particles, accurately arranging an ink jet system at an arbitrary position being a target on a substrate, hardly brittle-breaking the adhesive layer between a glass substrate and the spacer due to vibration, impact or the like, and eliminating light void or the like caused by the strongly sticking liquid crystal spacer.
The method for manufacturing the strongly sticking liquid crystal spacer has: a process for preparing core shell particles forming a shell layer comprising a swelling resin on the surface of non-swelling base substance particles; a process for swelling the shell layer by absorbing a polymerization monomer being a raw material of the adhesive resin in the shell layer of the core shell particles; and a process for forming the adhesive layer comprising the adhesive resin on the surface of the base substance particles by polymerizing the polymerization monomer absorbed to the shell layer.
