PURPOSE: To manufacture a homogeneous molded item of fine pieces efficiently and inexpensively.
CONSTITUTION: A mold having a cavity 52 for a product, an introduction opening 54 communicating with the cavity and a discharging path 56 is prepd. A slurry 36' consisting of fine pieces 20 to be molded and a supercritical fluid 42 wherein a binder is dissolved is formed and while the slurry is introduced into the cavity through the introduction opening, the supercritical fluid 42 is discharged from the discharging path. The pressure of the supercritical fluid is gradually decreased in the cavity and it is discharged as an ordinary gas from the discharging path and the fine pieces are gradually press-molded by the pressure gradient in the cavity between the introduction opening and the discharging path and during the process, the binder is deposited and the fine pieces are bound.
