To provide a method for optimally arranging a feeder of a component mounting device capable of improving a production tact of a substrate.
When absorbing a component, an absorbing pattern which shows a line of a position of a feeder for supplying a component to be absorbed by each absorbing nozzle of an absorbing head is obtained to form a matrix row depending on a type of the absorbing pattern, which expands the line of the feeder position as a matrix line to the matrix depending on the type of absorbing pattern. The matrix line is replaced and the number of absorptions by each absorption pattern is calculated every replacement, and the optimum feeder arrangement is obtained on the basis of the calculation result. This simple constitution makes it possible to obtain the optimum feeder arrangement to decrease the total number of absorptions by the absorption head, which improves the production tact of the substrate.
