To double the number of tissue paper to be received in a packaging box by pressing numerous overlaid tissue paper which are too high to be received in the single box while they are overlaid to reduce a height to such a height that can be received in the box and then by putting them in the packaging box.

When bundles T of 500 tissue paper are supplied from a folding machine onto a receiving plate 11 at predetermined time intervals, a pusher 15 by a cylinder or the like pushes the bundles T onto a belt conveyer 14. When the bundle T reaches a position below a pressurizing body 12b of a first press 12, the pressurizing body 12b is lowered to pressurize and compress the bundle T. Then after the pressurizing body 12b rises and waits, the belt conveyer 14 is operated intermittently at predetermined time intervals to move a compressed bundle T' to below a pressurizing body 13b of a second press 13. The bundle T' is also pressurized and compressed here by lowering of the pressurizing body 13b to be a bundle T", which is sent to a carry-out conveyer 16 to a packaging machine and packaged in a packaging box.
