To provide a method for simply producing a core-shell type hyperbranched polymer having an acid decomposable group in the shell portion which reduces an acid catalyst present in the polymer in its manufacturing process.
The process for producing the acid catalyst-free, core-shell type hyperbranched polymer comprises (A) a step of providing a core-shell type hyperbranched polymer having an acid decomposable group in the shell portion, (B) a step of bringing the hyperbranched polymer into contact with an acid catalyst in an organic solvent and converting part of the acid decomposable group into an acid group to obtain an acid catalyst-containing core-shell type hyperbranched polymer having an acid group and an acid decomposable group in the shell portion, and (C) a step of bringing the obtained hyperbranched core-shell type polymer into contact with an organic solvent to obtain an acid catalyst-free, core-shell type hyperbranched polymer.
