Abstract:
To provide an aliphatic polyester having a high polymerization degree and excellent heat stability, and to provide a method for industrially advantageously and efficiently producing the aliphatic polyester.
In this method for producing the aliphatic polyester having diol units and aliphatic dicarboxylic acid units, a metal oxide which contains at least one kind of element selected from a group comprising metal elements belonging to the groups 3 to 6 in the periodic table and at least one kind of element selected from a group comprising silicon element and metal elements belonging to the groups 1, 2, 12, 13, and 14 in the periodic table is used as a catalyst.
