The method for producing astaxanthin crystal includes: a step of extracting dried fungus of Phaffia yeast as acetone; a step of condensing the extract so that the astaxanthin concentration of the extract becomes 1.5-3 mass%; and a step of crystalizing astaxanthin by bringing the condensed liquid and n-hexane of 0.3-0.8 times the mass of the dried fungus into contact.
