Abstract:

To provide a method for producing bisphenol capable of effectively removing a component deteriorating the color tone of bisphenol and obtaining bisphenol having good color tone and to provide a method for producing a polycarbonate resin using bisphenol having improved color tone.SOLUTION: There is provided a method for producing bisphenol which comprises: a first step in which after mixing a solution containing bisphenol and a first aqueous solution of a carbonate, the resulting mixture is phase-separated into a first organic phase containing bisphenol and a first water phase containing a carbonate to remove the first water phase and obtain the first organic phase; a second step in which after mixing the first organic phase and a second aqueous solution of a carbonate, the resulting mixture is phase-separated into a second organic phase containing bisphenol and a second water phase containing a carbonate to remove the second water phase and obtain the second organic phase; and a third step of crystallizing the second organic phase to obtain bisphenol.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
